
Malta Permanent Residence Program (MPRP)
This program allows investors and their families to establish residence in Malta and grants them the privilege of travelling within the Schengen Area for up to 90 days out of every 180 days. Benefits
Applicable for 4 Generations, Valid for Life
The main applicant can include immediate family members across four generations in the initial application. Permanent Residence Certificate granted to all applicants is lifetime valid, and their descendants can apply for citizenship through registration.
Living & Doing Business in Malta
Investors can work locally or start a business with a corporate tax rate as low as 5%.
Access to Local & EU-wide Healthcare
Investors can use healthcare services across the Schengen Area with their health insurance and use public transport for free, both on the road and at sea.
Cost Effective International Education for Students
Investors’ children are entitled to low-cost or even free local compulsory education (ages 5-16) at public schools that follow the British educational system. Private and international schools offer IB, AP, and A-level curricula at affordable prices.
Visa-Free Travel to/within Schengen Area
Residence permit-holders can fly directly to 29 Schengen countries, travel within the Schengen area without customs checks, and stay up to 90 days in other Schengen countries every 180 days.
Requirements
Main Applicant
1. At least 18 years old
2. A clean criminal record
3. Non-EU citizen and not from a country sanctioned by Residency Malta Agency
4. Capital assets of not less than €500,000, out of which a minimum of €150,000 must be financial assets; or show they have capital assets of not less than €650,000, of which €75,000 must be in the form of financial assets.
5. Take out health insurance covering risks across Schengen for all applicants
6. Complete the contribution, donation, and real estate investment requirements (see Fees)
7. Pose no potential threat to Malta’s national security, public health, or public interest

The following fees and contributions are payable after the issue of the Letter of Approval:

Pay the remaining part of the administrative fee of €35,000

Pay a government contribution of €30,000 if purchasing a property or €60,000 if renting a property

Pay €5,000 administrative fee + €5,000 contribution for dependent

Make a donation of €2,000 to a local NGO registered with the Commissioner of Voluntary Organizations of a philanthropic, cultural, scientific, artistic, sport or animal welfare nature

Pay the residence card fee of EUR 137.50 per person

Purchase a private health insurance (cost may vary from €250 to €2000 per year per person)

Week 1
Share your passports for the 1st Tier Due Diligence check conducted by the licensed agent. Sign Letter of Engagement and pay deposit of professional fee

1-2 months
Sign Power of Attorney, provide all supporting documents to the licensed agent to Prepare the Application Pack for Submission and pay the deposit of the administrative fee of €15,000 to Residency Malta Agency.

6-12 months
Issuance of Letter of Approval in Principal

Within 2 months
Pay the remainder of the administrative fee of €35,000 and professional fee

Within 8 months
Make government contributions, rent or buy a qualifying property, make donation to an NGO, and take out a health insurance

Submit new documents. Issuance of Final Approval and Certificate of Maltese Residence.

Travel to Malta to submit biometrics.

Issuance of residence permit.
